Great Lakes scores Sabine Pass LNG dredging gig

By Mirza Duran US company Great Lakes Dredge & Dock has secured a subcontract from engineer Bechtel for the third jetty at Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG export terminal in Louisiana.

The subcontract involves dredging works for the third marine berth at Sabine Pass.

Cheniere is expanding its five-train 25 mtpa facility with an additional train and the jetty to boost operational flexibility.

The LNG company issued to Bechtel a notice to proceed with the new train in June 2019 and for the jetty on July 1, 2020.

Cheniere plans to launch the jetty in the first quarter of 2023.
